Every call is a live quality signal

vControl measures call quality in real time using Mean Opinion Score data.

MOS provides an operational indication of how a call is performing. Rather than waiting for a collection of customer complaints, vControl can see quality behaviour across calls, carrier paths and infrastructure as it happens.

Carrier route selection is determined by quality scores, not cost. Customer network or device issues are detectable, identified via improved visibility beyond the typical online status.

Four layers of resilience

vControl is designed with four layers of resilience across physical infrastructure, virtual systems and geographically separated locations.

This means service continuity is not dependent on a single server, carrier path or site. Each layer helps maintain capacity and support service restoration if a fault occurs, creating a platform built to withstand infrastructure, carrier and location-level disruptions.

No dependence on one server, one carrier path or one site.

Three independent carrier connections

vControl maintains three independent carrier connections, reducing reliance on any single external voice provider or termination path.

Carrier performance and call termination outcomes are monitored as part of normal operations. If a route experiences degraded quality, failed terminations or an availability issue, eligible traffic can be directed through another carrier connection according to the routing rules, destination coverage and service conditions in effect.

This carrier diversity helps reduce the impact of faults outside the vControl network and provides greater flexibility in maintaining voice quality and service continuity.

Capacity for the unexpected

The platform is deliberately undersubscribed. Normal operation is approximately 15% of currently enabled capacity.

That headroom is intended to absorb unexpected traffic, carrier events and infrastructure failover without requiring the system to operate close to its normal ceiling.

Australian infrastructure designed for continuity

vControl uses Australian data centres selected for their availability, connectivity and operational resilience. This includes Micron21’s Australian-owned, Tier IV certified, ISO-certified and IRAP-assessed Melbourne facility.

A Tier IV environment provides fault-tolerant power, cooling and facility infrastructure designed to support continuous operation through maintenance and unexpected equipment failures. For vControl customers, this adds another layer of resilience behind the services they rely on.

Service availability also requires defence

Reliability also requires protection from malicious use. FraudShield monitors call behaviour and can respond to unusual patterns, high-risk destinations and fraudulent activity.
